The Commission on Social Action, Justice and Peace:

 

a) Shall promote and conduct studies to foster social justice, encourage Social Movements and Organizations animated by Christian principles, and forward advisories of warning against those with unchristian orientation.

b) Shall make the necessary analysis of and pursuant recommendations to the Conference regarding diocesan and regional Social Action Plans, Programs and Projects.

c) Shall animate Institutes engaged in the formation of Catholic leaders in social action through seminars, renewals and similar activities.

d) Shall help and coordinate social action activities in the Country, and maintain communication with international Organizations on social action, specially with the Pontifical Commission on Justice and Peace, Caritas Internationalis and the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum”.

e) Shall serve through its Secretariat as a national clearing house in the applications for foreign funding of social action projects.

f) Shall ensure that its orientation, policies and thrust are in accord with the social action vision and mission of the Conference.

g) Shall exercise its authority and supervision over its Secretariat according to the principles and spirit of co-responsibility and participation as inspired by the Christian sense and as provided for by the Code of Canon Law.

h) Shall promote social action Projects that really benefit the poor, the deprived and the oppressed, continuously establishing and building firm solidarity with the People of God.
